Why Alofa?

A Space for Healing with Love and Compassion.

In Samoan, Alofa means love, affection, and kindness. But it’s more than just a word - it’s a way of being. Alofa is deeply rooted in the values of family, connection, and community. It’s about showing up with compassion, offering support without judgment, and holding space for others with gentleness and care.

At Alofa Psychotherapy and Counselling, this is the foundation of everything we do.
Say hello, I'd love to talk with you.

Meet Miriama

Talofa lava! I’m Miriama - founder of Alofa and a qualified psychological science and counselling practitioner.

My journey into this work began with a simple but powerful question:

Why do we behave the way we do?
That curiosity led me to explore the science of the mind, the impact of trauma, and the healing power of deep self-awareness. But beyond textbooks and qualifications, what shaped me most has been life itself. My lived experiences taught me that healing isn’t always a straight path - and we shouldn’t have to walk it alone.

A Safe Space to Be
You. At Alofa, you’ll find a warm, culturally respectful space where you can explore your story, your struggles, and your strength - without shame or pressure.
